1970s Hermès Silk And Wool Sweater
A 1970s Hermès sweater with a silk printed panel at the front. This panel features a ship towards the top; with the words “ Fluctuat Nec Mergitur”, which translates to ("[She] is tossed [by the waves], but does not sink"). This is also featured on the coat of arms for the city of Paris, The same red and blue colour theme is used too. This nod to the Hermès’ Parisian roots is evident throughout the brand. The maritime theme of the piece is to also represent the city of Paris and the coat of arms.
